Hi, I'm Wenhui, the artist behind niceaunties. I use AI to build the Auntieverse, where the women who raised me rewrite their stories and get to be gloriously, unapologetically free.

Preserving and Reimagining the 'auntie' archetype through art, technology, and social commentary
The Auntieverse is a world-building project that explores the cultural archetype of the auntie, a figure deeply embedded in everyday life yet often misunderstood or misrepresented. In many Asian societies, the term 'auntie' is both a familial title and a social label, carrying assumptions about age, personality, and societal roles.
niceaunties reclaims this term, transforming aunties into protagonists, figures of humour, resilience, and self-expression. It offers a space where aunties transcend societal judgment, moving through speculative cities, surreal economies, and imagined futures.
Operating at the intersection of cultural preservation, speculative fiction, and technology, the Auntieverse challenges how we perceive both aunties and the future of contemporary art.
